Kerry Campaigning In Rhode Island

Printer Friendly Version

(Providence-AP) -- Massachusetts senator and presidential candidate John Kerry attended a fund-raiser in Rhode Island yesterday.
The Democrat raised about 75-thousand dollars from donors at the home of former Providence Mayor Joseph Paolino Junior.
Kerry talked about his universal health care plan, telling The Providence Journal it's affordable and will save money for 163 (M) million Americans.
Kerry is vying with eight others for the nomination to challenge President Bush in 2004.
He says he's the best candidate because he's the one Democrat who can present an alternative to the president on national security issues.
Attorney General Patrick Lynch, Secretary of State Matthew Brown and Democratic State Chairman William Lynch also attended the lunch.
