Several Political Campaigns Under Investigation For Not Carrying Workers Comp. Insurance

     Eyewitness News has learned the fraud unit of the state department of labor and training is looking into several campaign organizations.
      The issue is whether employees working in political campaigns must be covered by workers comp. Insurance.
     Almost every major campaign is now concerned about whether it met the requirements. 
     Lt. Gov. Charles Fogarty's office has written to the department of labor and training saying if the law was inadevertantly broken, they are seeking guidance on how to proceed.
     The office of Secretary of State Matt Brown says it became aware that there was a questioin of coverage, but a workers comp insurance company refused to process the necessary paperwork.
      Brown's office is also seeking guidance.
