Investigators Trying to Figure Out Capacity of "The Station" Nightclub
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

The number of people who went to The Station nightclub on the night of a deadly fire may never be known for sure. But that's not stopping state investigators from trying to find out. A spokesman for the Attorney General's office says the state is interviewing hundreds of people -- including patrons and employees of the nightclub -- to determine how many people were at the club February 20th. Spokesman Michael Healey says it's a major goal of investigators to try to contact as many of the fire survivors as possible. Healey says the work will take months to complete. Investigators are trying to determine if the club's capacity was exceeded and whether that hindered concert goers as they tried to escape the fire. Town officials say the club's capacity was 404 when all furniture was removed.
