Fire Safety Commission To Meet Tonight
(Providence-AP) -- A legislative commission created to study fire safety regulations in the wake of the West Warwick nightclub fire is hearing from licensing experts today.
The Joint Fire Safety Commission will hear from experts on licensing, permits, occupancy and event management when it convenes at 6 p-m at the Statehouse.
The commission is investigating issues including pyrotechnic displays, fire sprinklers, nightclub exit and evacuation plans, and the limits, control and management of crowds.
The panel is comprised of state fire leaders and citizens appointed by the governor.
The February 20th fire at The Station killed 99 people and injured nearly 190 others.
