More Evidence Found At Station Nightclub
(West Warwick, Rhode Island-AP) -- West Warwick, Rhode Island
Police have collected evidence from the site of The Station
nightclub fire that may prove valuable to the investigation.
A search warrant obtained by The Associated Press shows police
who visited the site last week found a can of black spray paint and
a bag of glitter.
Former patrons of The Station have been quoted as saying
soundproofing foam on the walls appeared to have been spray-painted
and decorated with glitter.
The deadly fire began when sparks from a band's pyrotechnics
ignited soundproofing foam on the walls near the stage.
This week, lawyers and experts in potential civil suits stemming
from the fire began their own search of the site. They expect the
process will take two weeks.
The February 20th fire killed 99 people. More that 30 of victims
were from Massachusetts.
