(Providence-AP) -- A city hall employee has been arraigned on charges of embezzlement.
Mayor David CicillineÔŅĹs spokeswoman Karen Southern says the woman was arraigned this morning. The woman worked in the tax collectorÔŅĹs office.
According to a report on WPRI TV, the employee was escorted out of City Hall this morning by police. Southern said she could not confirm the report of the escort.
Cicilline and Police Chief Dean Esserman will hold a five p-m news conference in the mayorÔŅĹs office to discuss the criminal investigation.
