(Warwick-AP) -- A high-ranking official with the Teamsters Union faces cocaine charges after he was allegedly caught with the drug at T-F Green Airport.
Stuart Mundy is secretary-treasurer of Teamsters Local 251.Eyewitness News Investigator Jack White has learned that Mundy was arrested, charged and arraigned at the airport last Saturday as he tried to board a plane.
Airport officials say security officers noticed a bulge in Mundys right sock as he went through the security checkpoint.
He claimed the bulge was a bandage. But when airport security asked him to remove the sock, they found a small plastic baggie containing a white powder.
More white powder was found in Mundys left sock. Officials say tests showed the substance was cocaine.
Mundy was arraigned at the airport by a justice of the peace.
Then he was allowed to board a plane, apparently for Florida.
Hes charged with possession and concealment of narcotics. Hes due to appear in Warwick District Court on October 28th.
