With Schilling on 15-day DL, Red Sox call up Bausher from PawSox
BOSTON (AP) -- The Red Sox have called right-handed pitcher Tim Bausher up from Triple-A Pawtucket while Curt Schilling spends 15 days on the disabled list.
Bausher has never pitched in the major leagues. He was called up two days after the Red Sox said Schilling would miss at least two weeks with a bone bruise on his surgically repaired right ankle.
It was the latest setback for a starting rotation that lost David Wells a few days earlier.
Schilling will go on the disabled list retroactive to April 24th.
Bausher had no record and a three-point-two-four E-R-A in four relief appearances with the Pawtucket this season. The 26-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies organization in December.
