WASHINGTON (AP) _ Would-be presidential assassin John Hinckley can keep staying overnight at his parents' home unsupervised. But a federal judge has refused his request for longer visits. Hinckley lives at a mental hospital. He was acquitted by reason of insanity for shooting President Reagan.
PENTAGON (AP) _ Muslim extremists are picking up stature among ordinary Muslims. A Pentagon panel is urging the government to change the way it communicates with the Muslim world. The panel says that since Nine-Eleven, Muslims see America as spreading chaos -- not democracy.
FALLUJAH, Iraq (AP) _ U-S Marines say they've found so much ammo in Fallujah that it's delaying the return of civilians. Most of the 250-thousand residents left ahead of the U-S-led assault. A Marine spokesman says it may be several more weeks before enough weaponry is cleared so people could return.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) _ A Wal-Mart heiress is having her name taken off the University of Missouri's sports arena. Her parents paid for it and asked that it be named for her -- but have now agreed to remove her name after her roommate says the woman cheated her way through a California college.
