Patricia LeFevre doesn't like needles. So, the fact that she's here shows just how much faith she has in the newest wrinkle fighter on the market called Restylane. She's looking to fill in some droopy lines around her mouth and a crease in her forehead. Her hope is not only to have younger looking skin but to have a more pleasant appearance,. "Because with the lines coming down people are always saying, 'Why don't you smile? How come you're so mad? How come you're so sad?'"
She's putting her faith and face in the hands of cosmetic surgeon Dr. Yoash Enzer, "We've been waiting a long time for this product."
The company that makes Restylane says it's made from hyaluronic acid, a substance already found in the human body, that provides volume and fullness to the skin. Dr. Enzer says it's better than the fillers already on the market, like collagen, because the effects last longer, up to 8 months in some cases. It also has fewer incidents of allergic reactions and Dr. Enzer and many of his patients believe it works better.
Dr. Enzer says, "It's much more effective, since I've been using it in the past few months, in correcting wrinkles and folds than the older collagen is."
After some numbing injections the actual procedure takes less than 20 minutes and Patricia seems pleased with the results, "It is amazing. It looks better." Each procedure costs upwards of $500.
