Democrats question Bush's spending proposal for rebuilding Iraq
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Undated-AP -- Democrats are questioning the high price tag President Bush has put on Iraq's post-war reconstruction.

The Bush administration has proposed spending 20 (b) billion dollars on rebuilding Iraq. That's not sitting well with Democrats.

In their weekly radio address, Missouri Governor Bob Holden questioned the administration's plans of spending (b) billions on Iraq's infrastructure while interstate highways throughout the U-S are in serious need of repair.

Holden says Democrats believe the responsibility for rebuilding Iraq should be shared by the international community, not just American taxpayers.
